SwiftKey has long been a popular keyboard alternative. What makes it different from your typical stock Android keyboard is that it has a sophisticated learning engine that adapts to your typing and gets better over time. Basically, very similar to voice recognition, that is if you allow Google to learn from it.
Also, you can give SwiftKey access to your social networking accounts, even email account, so it can analyze what you've said and, again, adapt. Swype is another keyboard alternative that, instead of typing, you simply swipe with your finger from word to word. It's actually very accurate and a pretty cool way to quickly say whatever it is you need to say.
Now, there's a new app in town called SwiftKey Flow. It has everything users love about the original SwiftKey, except now it has Swype-like features. Looking at the video at the end of this post, it looks to be very responsive. Of course, if you don't want to use the gesture-based typing, no problem. You can simply turn it off.
However, here's the downside: The app isn't out yet. Although, if you want to get an email when the beta is released, you can go here and enter your email.
